Sodium triphosphate (STP), also sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP), or tripolyphosphate (TPP) is an inorganic compound. It is produced on a large scale as a component of many domestic and industrial products, especially detergents. Environmental problems associated with eutrophication are attributed to its widespread use.

Application:

Sodium tripolyphosphate has functions such as chelation, suspension, dispersion, gelation, emulsification, and pH buffering. It can be used as a main auxiliary for synthetic detergents, industrial water softeners, tanning pre tanning agents, dyeing aids, organic synthesis catalysts, pharmaceutical industry dispersants, and food additives.
