Product Introduction:
Manganese carbonate, or manganese carbonate, is an inorganic compound, the carbonate of divalent manganese. Soluble in dilute acid, insoluble in water and ethanol.
Application:
used as catalyst for desulfurization, pigment for enamels, paints and varnishes. Also used as fertilizer and feed additive. Used in medicine, welding rod auxiliary materials, etc., as raw materials for the production of electrolytic manganese metal.
Physical properties: Rose-colored triangular rhombohedral crystal or amorphous bright white brown powder. The relative density is 3.125. Almost insoluble in water, slightly soluble in water containing carbon dioxide (that is, carbonic acid), insoluble in alcohol and liquid ammonia.
Chemical properties: soluble in dilute inorganic acids, slightly soluble in common organic acids. Stable in dry air. It is easy to oxidize when wet, forming manganese trioxide and gradually turning brown-black, decomposing and releasing carbon dioxide when heated. It is hydrolyzed when azeotropic with water. In boiling potassium hydroxide, manganese hydroxide is produced.
Manganese carbonate is the raw material for making soft magnetic ferrite for telecommunication equipment, synthesizing manganese dioxide and making other manganese salts.
