Product Introduction:
Calcium hypochlorite is an inorganic compound with formula Ca(ClO)2. It is a white solid, although commercial samples appear yellow. It strongly smells of chlorine, owing to its slow decomposition in moist air. This compound is relatively stable as a solid and solution and has greater available chlorine than sodium hypochlorite.
Application:
General purpose
Used for bleaching cotton, linen, pulp, and silk fabrics, sterilization and disinfection of drinking water, swimming pool water, and purification of acetylene.
Detailed purpose
- An oxidizing bactericide with a bactericidal mechanism similar to liquid chlorine. Long term use of this product will increase the concentration of Caz+in the system.
- It is an efficient bleaching agent. Mainly used for bleaching cotton and linen textiles, chemical fibers, pulp, starch, biochemical treatment of pollutants, and also for disinfection and sterilization of drinking water and swimming pool water. In military industry, it can be used as a chemical disinfectant (such as mustard gas) and a radioactive disinfectant.
